Cook rallies his fringe players
ENGLAND captain Alastair Cook is pushing his fringe players to seize their opportunity in the one-day series against India, which begins this morning in Rajkot.
Cook has rested key players Jonathan Trott, Graeme Swann and James Anderson while Stuart Broad is also out injured.
“If people perform really well, it will be hard to leave them out,” said Cook. “[It’s up to] especially those players who’ve been around a while to try to step up and produce match-winning performances.”
England have struggled, mainly with the ball, in warm-up defeats against India A and Delhi.
