Connecting talent: ING Discerning Eye Exhibition opens at The Mall Galleries
The work of budding artists from around the UK hangs alongside that of internationally recognised names at this year’s ING Discerning Eye Exhibition, which opens to the public today.
The exhibition at The Mall Galleries in SW1 comprises six separate sections, each assembled by a prominent figure from the art world. To build their section, each selector chooses their favourite work from over 2,000 public entries and displays it alongside the work of established, invited artists.
This year’s selectors are artists Nicola Green and Emma Stibbon RA; collectors Dr Giles Brown and Chris Ingram; and art critics Simon Martin of Pallant House Gallery and Helen Sumpter from ArtReview. They join an illustrious list from previous shows including HRH The Prince of Wales, Griff Rhys Jones and Davina McCall.
“The ING Discerning Eye Exhibition helps talented artists from a variety of backgrounds to achieve their aspirations”, says Gerald Walker, CEO of ING Commercial Banking, UK, Ireland and Middle East. “The exhibition provides well-deserved exposure for all those exhibiting and we hope that it helps them on the road to future success”.
The show enjoys an excellent reputation among art lovers and collectors alike for its unique and highly personal approach to exhibiting the works, which includes paintings and prints, drawing, photography and sculpture. All the art on show is for sale.
The ING Discerning Eye Exhibition 2014 will run in the Mall Galleries, London SW1, from 13-23 November 2014.
Admission is free, 10am-5pm daily.
