Coming to a high street near you: First look at Williams & Glyn’s logo
WILLIAMS and Glyn, the bank being spun off from RBS, will use the below logo on its branches, City A.M. can reveal.
The 314 sites across the country, with around 30 in London, are set to be rebranded for its launch as an independent challenger bank next year.
The branding has been in the pipeline for around a year and its colouring is intended to make it distinct from the red or blue of other banks. RBS is selling the branches to a consortium of investors led by Corsair Capital.
The bank has to carve out the unit as part of the terms of its bailout, as the European Commission wants more competition in the sector. “Creating a distinct Williams & Glyn brand is an important part of preparing the business for separation from RBS and we continue to be guided by the views of our customers and employees as we develop that brand,” said a spokesperson.
