Cole won’t be sold at any price, warns Chelsea boss Ancelotti
CHELSEA boss Carlo Ancelotti last night insisted Ashley Cole is not forsale at any price.
Reports over the weekend suggested that the England left-back was unsettled at Stamford Bridge and had sat down for crisis talks with Ancelotti in a bid to thrash out his future.
Former Chelsea chief Jose Mourinho, who signed Cole from Arsenal in 2006, is believed to want the 29-year-old to join his revolution at the Bernabeu.
And with Cole desperate to escape the attention from his personal life, he is said to be extremely tempted.
But speaking after Chelsea’s 2-1 pre-season defeat to Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt yesterday, Ancelotti was quick to issue a hands-off warning to any interested parties.
“Ashley Cole will not be sold at any price,” he said, “There is no price that we would sell him at. We believe he is the best left-back in the world and because of this he will stay at this club.
“Nothing has changed in our position. Everyone can forget about Ashley Cole leaving this club.”
Frank Lampard, on as a second-half substitute, netted for Chelsea in Germany although the Blues put in a rather ring rusty performance.
