Coffee chain Apostrophe bought by the Tower of London’s caterer
COFFEE chain Apostrophe has been bought out by commercial caterer CH&Co for an undisclosed sum, the buyer announced yesterday.
CH&Co has snapped up the remaining 50 per cent of the business, having paid a reported £4m to £5m for half of Apostrophe in January 2012.
The coffee company launched in Shoreditch in 2001 and now has 23 branches in London, five of which have opened since CH&Co’s investment.
Privately-owned CH&Co, which caters for eight of the city’s livery halls, the Tower of London and Gatwick Airport, aims to make more than £100m in revenues this year. The Apostrophe deal will help it offer more coffee to its corporate clients.
Chairman Tim Jones said of the acquisition yesterday: “Industry clients; visitors to world-famous attractions; and even private guests attending events at historic venues all want the best when dining with us. Apostrophe helps meet this need and we look forward to developing it further.”
