Clifford Chance re-elects London managing partner Bickerton
CLIFFORD Chance’s David Bickerton has been handed a second term as London managing partner of the Magic Circle law firm, following an uncontested election.
The firm confirmed yesterday that Bickerton, who was first elected to the role in November 2009, would serve a further four-years in charge of the London office. Clifford Chance’s London operations are home to more than 1,500 employees, including 176 equity partners.
Bickerton joined the firm in 1987 and was made a partner a decade later, specialising in project and infrastructure bond financings.
“I remain hugely committed to the role and have greatly enjoyed all we have achieved over the past four years,” he said yesterday.
“Our future success will continue to depend on the talent, quality and commitment of our people and I look forward to working with everyone to do the best and most demanding work for our clients.”
Global managing partner David Childs welcomed the appointment: “David has done a great job in leading our very successful London office over the last four years and I am confident that under his leadership the office will continue to perform very strongly.”
