Clarke set to take step on OceanBridge
PRIVATE equity veteran and former Permira partner Martin Clarke could be about to join an advisory boutique set up by a former colleague.
Clarke, the ex-head of Permira’s consumer team, is believed to have held talks with Philippe Robert about joining OceanBridge Partners.
Clarke is currently a non-executive director at New Look, the retailer controlled by Permira and Apax.
Harvard-educated Robert is the co-founder of New York-based OceanBridge and also a director of French broadcaster Canal+.
Clarke, who holds a doctorate in history from Cambridge University and is a trustee of the Globe Theatre on the South Bank, spent the early part of his career at Cinven in the 1980s. He could not be contacted yesterday.
