I’m always supportive about growth and infrastructure – anything that makes journeys shorter and brings together different parts of the city is positive.

It’s not necessary to build a network specifically travelling from south-west to north-east because there are already a lot of rails and Underground routes within London. If we’re talking about an area outside London, then maybe it’s relevant.

We need a new rail system, definitely. Anything to alleviate congestion and speed up travel. Expense-wise, the city is always going to spend money, so why not spend it on travel and lessen disruption for passengers?
