CITY VIEWS | ARE YOU IN FAVOUR OF THE OLYMPIC LANES?

I think the lanes themselves are a little excessive – one of my friends was fined recently for using one of them. I think it will be a big nuisance for people who use the roads to get to work on a daily basis; it’s difficult enough even on the Tube these days.

I don’t drive in London, but I know that these lanes aren’t popular with everyone that does. I think they are a necessity for us to host the Olympics. The roads will be busy, but I take the Tube, and I’ll actually be staying in a hotel over the Olympic period – I think even the Tube will be packed.

I’m not too bothered by them. I’ll be working in London during the period, and I’m not going to change any of my usual travel plans. Some of the posters around recommend leaving extra hours to make journeys in the city, but I don’t think you need to do that.
