City slicker list cheers beards
TO usher in a New Year in the City, men’s style bible GQ has compiled a list of 10 best-dressed businessmen for 2013.
The Capitalist reckons there will be many City boys out there who fancy themselves as contenders for a spot on the coveted list. But the magazine’s February issue, out tomorrow, has thrown a few wildcards into the mix – including winner and managing director of Fenwick Bond Street, David Walker-Smith.
At 10 is banking heir and eco-entrepreneur David de Rothschild, whose bushy beard sets him apart from many City smoothies, while in seventh is trendy stubble-toting Pete Cashmore, CEO of tech website Mashable, just behind Kurt Geiger boss Neil Clifford. Hedgie Jamie Allsopp is second, though let us not forget he does have the help of supermodel wife Jacquetta Wheeler. Making up the rest of the top 10 are Frieze Art Fair’s Matthew Slotover, retail entrepreneur Harold Tillman, Cartier’s Francois Le Troquer, architect David Adjaye and Apple’s Sir Jonathan Ive.
