Barclays Wealth.
The wealth manager has appointed Aaron Gurwitz as chief investment officer and head of research, economics and strategy and Kevin Gardiner as head of global investment strategy.
Gurwitz, pictured, joined the firm in 2008 as part of the Lehman Brothers acquisition, having previously worked for PIM and Goldman Sachs.
Gardiner joined last year as head of EMEA investment strategy from HSBC, where he was global head of equity strategy.
BlueCrest Capital Management
The hedge fund group has appointed Daniel Kajiya as a portfolio manager for its emerging markets fund, based in London.
Kajiya joins from Morgan Stanley in Brazil where he was responsible primarily for US dollar/Brazilian real market making and proprietary trading.
The appointment follows that last month of Marcin Wiszniewski to BlueCrest’s emerging markets fund. Wiszniewski also joined from Morgan Stanley, where he was head of European foreign exchange and emerging markets trading.
Aviva Investors
Justin Craib-Cox has joined the asset management firm as a fund manager on the convertible bond team.
Craib-Cox joins from M&G Investments, where he was a deputy fund manager specialising in global convertibles. He previously worked as an equity analyst for Morningstar in Chicago.
Climate Change Capital
The environmental investment management group has appointed Stephen Lilley to run its new European renewable energy infrastructure asset management team.
Lilley, 42, was until recently one of the principals in Infracapital Partners, the European infrastructure fund run by M&G/Prudential.
Morgan Stanley
The bank has appointed Gabriel Aractingi to its private wealth management division as a managing director and head of sales for the Middle East, based in Dubai.
Aractingi joins from Lombard Odier, where he was executive vice president and head of the Middle East. Prior to that, he was chief executive of asset-management.com and a senior manager in the financial services industry group at Ernst & Young.
GE Capital
The commercial finance provider has appointed Alan Austin as a regional director for London and the South, responsible for growing the asset-based lending business.
Austin previously worked at KBC Business Capital, where he was also a regional director, as well as at Landsbanki, Enterprise Finance Europe and Lloyds TSB.
