CITY MOVES WHO’S SWITCHING JOBS
Piper Jaffray
The international middle market investment bank announced the appointment of Martin Brennan as associate for its technology banking team, which is led by Eric Sanschagrin.
Brennan was previously senior associate at FirstCapital, a boutique telecoms, media and technology investment bank. He advised on nine technology Venture Capital and Private Equity financings and six M&A deals in four years.
Aviva
Aviva Investors has strengthened its fund management capability with the appointment of Ian Berry as fund manager, infrastructure and renewable energy.
Berry will be based in London, and will oversee the development of Aviva Investors infrastructure capability as well as being fund manager of the Aviva Investors European Renewable Energy Fund. Ian will also be involved in the management of Aviva Investors’ existing infrastructure and PFI/PPP investments.
He joins Aviva Investors from BlueCrest Capital Management, where he had been Investment Director since January 2007.
Conduit Capital Markets
Conduit Capital Markets, an independent mid-market institutional derivatives and securities dealer, has appointed Paul Blake as head of fixed income sales. Prior to his appointment Blake was head of institutional bond sales, Europe and Asia at CIBC World Markets, where he had been for ten years. He began his career in fixed income in 1982.
Liontrust
Liontrust Asset Management announced that Ross Hollyman’s team of investment managers – Nikki Martin, Rob Cornish and Tom Ayres – will join the company from GAM in October 2009. This follows the announcement last month that Hollyman himself will move from GAM to Liontrust in January 2010.
On joining Liontrust, Hollyman and his team will develop the Global Value, Global Earnings Surprise and Global Multi-Factor equity investment processes in Liontrust’s latest move to broaden its product range. Martin will focus primarily on the Global Earnings Surprise investment process, while Cornish will concentrate on the Global Value investment process and Ayres will be responsible for the Global Multi Factor investment process.
Aioi Motor & General Insurance
Ian Chippendale, former chief executive and chairman of Direct Line Insurance and latterly chairman of RBS Insurance, has joined the board of Aioi Motor & General Insurance Company of Europe as a non-executive director.
Chippendale also serves as a non-executive director of Homeserve, is an independent director of Transatlantic Holdings Inc and a Senior Advisor to Fenchurch Advisory Partners. Ron Iles, chairman of AMaGIC, said Chippendale has a wealth of experience in motor insurance.
