The law firm has appointed Sandeep Katwala as regional managing partner of its emerging Europe, Middle East and Africa practice, effective from 1 May.
Katwala succeeds Stuart Salt, who was appointed Asia managing partner earlier this year. He will continue to head up the firm’s India practice, which he has led for the past six years, focusing on corporate M&A and joint venture investments into and out of the country.
Invesco Perpetual
The fund management business has appointed Nick Mustoe as its new chief investment officer.
Mustoe has over 25 years of experience as an investment professional, having started his career as a UK equity manager at Phillips and Drew Fund Management. He has also held positions as chief investment officer at both Pictet Asset Management and Hermes Pensions Management.
Standard Life
The pensions, savings and investments and insurance group has appointed Jackie Hunt as its new chief financial officer and an executive director.
Hunt joined the firm in January last year as deputy group finance director. Prior to that, she was chief financial officer at Norwich Union.
She will be paid £475,000 as a basic salary, in addition to a maximum short term bonus of £641,250 and shares worth a maximum of £593,750 as part of a long-term incentive plan.
Evolution Securities
The investment bank has appointed Nick Searle as head of mid and small cap sales, effective from July.
Searle was previously a senior salesman at Oriel Securities. His appointment follows that of Garry Levin as Evolution’s head of corporate finance.
Citigroup
The bank has boosted its global transaction services (GTS) business with the appointment of Jay Hershman as head of sales in its GTS client sales management team in the EMEA region.
Hershman has been at Citi for six years, most recently leading the North American reseller solutions team.
Brookfield Asset Management
The asset manager has appointed Richard Liao as managing partner for real estate investments in Europe, tasked with expanding its property. portfolio in the region.
Liao formerly spent five years as a managing director in the real estate investment banking team at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in London. He also worked at Citigroup.
Advent International
David Yates has joined the private equity firm’s operating partner programme to advise on investment opportunities in the financial services sector, with a particular focus on payments and transaction processing.
Yates previously spent six years working at First Data Corporation, most recently as president of First Data International.
