Bluefin Corporate Consulting
The consulting firm, part of Bluefin Advisory Services, which is owned by Axa UK, has appointed Sean Glasgow as its new head of investments.
Glasgow previously worked in a variety of roles both in the UK and internationally.
He has held senior positions at soft drinks giant Coca-Cola and in the investment advisory services team at ‘Big Four’ accountancy firm Deloitte.
Throgmorton
The accountancy firm, which specialises in servicing the hedge fund, private equity and corporate finance industries, has hired two senior tax industry practitioners to its team.
Raminder Chowdhary has joined as head of VAT from KPMG, where he specialised in VAT matters relating to UK and European financial services.
Stephen Smith becomes a tax manager and joins from Mazars, where he spent the past 12 years of his career.
Coutts & Co
The private bank has appointed Robert Woodthorpe Browne as a partner in its Reading office, specialising in advising entrepreneur and professional clients.
Browne joins from BNP Paribas Fortis, where he was a senior private banker. He also worked at Adam & Company, the sister firm to Coutts, as a senior manager in the London office.
McDermott Will & Emery
The law firm has taken on Mats Sacklén as a corporate partner in the London office, effective immediately.
Sacklén was previously a partner at White & Case and advises multinationals, private equity funds and other clients on cross-border M&A, divestures, joint ventures and debt and equity investments.
In his new role, he will be the new European head of M&A at McDermott Will & Emery.
Cairn Capital
The credit asset management and advisory firm has expanded its funds business by assuming management of the Credaris Credit Fund, taking on five members of Credaris’ investment team.
Transferring over are principal portfolio manager Sam Cowan, who rejoins Cairn after previously working there as a senior portfolio manager; Graham Neilson, who becomes chief investment strategist; Beth Fusco and Helen Rodriguez as analysts; and Lindsey Hobday in the investor relations team.
Credaris chief executive Andrew Donaldson will remain on the board of directors of the fund.
Marshall Oliver
Simon Johnson, the former head of private banking at search firm Hutton Consulting, has left to set up his own firm, Marshall Oliver, targeting private banks, private wealth management firms and family offices.
