BoA Merrill Lynch
The bank has rehired Anthony Bor to its global research team as head of South Africa Equity Research.
Bor previously spent 12 years as an analyst at Merrill Lynch and consistently ranked in the top three in Institutional Investor and Extel surveys in a variety of different sectors.
He then left the company in 2006 to become a senior portfolio manager at Alliance Bernstein.
Jefferies
The investment banking group has appointed Eiji Kitahara as a managing director in its Uridashi bond business, tasked with building the bank’s origination and sales effort in Japan.
Kitahara has over 30 years of experience in the industry and joins from Dresdner Kleinwort, where he spent 11 years, latterly as co-head of retail relations in the capital markets division.
Troika Dialog
The wealth management firm has appointed Anton Rakhmanov to oversee its asset management business, effective from next month.
Rakhmanov joins from Renaissance Investment Management, where he oversaw an investment portfolio comprising blue-chip and second-tier securities worth around $1.5bn.
Prior to that, he was a portfolio manager at Unifund in Switzerland and an equity and FX trader at the CIS Regional Growth Fund.
Grosvenor Britain & Ireland
The property group has hired Craig McWilliam as a new executive director, responsible for development activity outside its core property portfolio in Mayfair and Belgravia.
McWilliam, aged 38, was previously managing director at Fortress Investment Group, responsible for real estate in the company’s European private equity business.
He has also worked at Warburg Dillon Read (now UBS Investment Bank) and European real estate firm Rodamco.
Defaqto
The financial research company has appointed Zahid Bilgrami as its new chief operating officer to improve its performance and search for potential acquisitions to grow the business.
Bilgrami joins from Balfour Beatty, where he held similar responsibilities for developing corporate strategy and non-organic growth.
His appointment is effective immediately.
Milestone
The Aim-listed digital media and technology group has appointed Mark Hargreaves as a non-executive director.
Hargreaves was previously head of IT at football club Manchester United and general manager of Manchester United Interactive.
He is currently chief operating officer of Knowledge MGI, a UK-based management consultancy group providing advice to sports, entertainment and media brands.
