Matrix Group
The financial services group has taken on Peter Bax as head of property asset management.
Bax was most recently a portfolio manager at Citi Property Investors for nine years, having previously held the position of vice president of global real estate investment origination at Citi’s private banking arm.
He also formerly worked for BZW Investment Banking as a director in the property advisory group.
Quintain
The property group has hired Christopher Bell, the former chief executive of Ladbrokes, as a non-executive director.
Bell, who becomes the senior independent director on Quintain’s board, led Ladbrokes until April 2010. He is also currently senior non-executive director of FTSE 250 retailer Game Group and is a member of the Responsible Gambling Strategy Board, which advises the Gambling Commission and the government on policy and strategy in the field.
Hermes BPK Partners
The fund of hedge funds has appointed Pawel Kisielewski as a partner to drive its business development strategy.
Kisielewski joins from Caliburn Capital Partners, where as a partner and member of the management committee he led the client development activity for the past four years. Prior to that he was at Merrill Lynch, running the global technology sales team.
Debevoise & Plimpton
David Innes is to join the law firm as a partner in its London private equity transactional practice.
Innes moves over from Travers Smith, where he has been a partner since 2000 specialising in private equity and M&A work.
Protiviti
Tim Brooke, a former consultant to Northern Rock during its restructuring, has joined the business consultancy firm as a managing director and head of the UK internal audit and financial controls team.
At Northern Rock, Brooke helped to prepare the bailed-out bank for its return to private ownership. Prior to that, he was a VP at JP Morgan Chase.
The Jockey Club
The UK horseracing industry’s biggest commercial group has appointed Andrew Crean as its new finance director. Crean joins after a decade at Compass Group, where he is currently finance and commercial director of its sport, leisure and hospitality divisions.
