Ernst & Young
Dawn Aloof has joined EY from rival PricewaterhouseCoopers, to lead its Europe, Middle East, India and Africa (EMEIA) financial services transaction integration practice.
Aloof also previously spent 15 years at Barclays, where she was responsible for clients’ global operating strategy, planning and M&A operations. She is joined by four ex-PwC colleagues: Ari Constantinou, David Brayley, Michael Wada and Phil Anderson.
Premier Asset Management
The asset manager has appointed Simon King as senior investment manager for UK equities, tasked with running its £61m Premier UK Thematic Fund and its Premier Smaller Companies Fund.
King formerly worked at Gartmore Investment Management between 1996 and 2009, where he managed and co-managed a series of successful multi-cap long/short and long only high performance portfolios.
Prior to that, he was in the UK smaller companies team at NatWest Investment Management.
Berwin Leighton Paisner
The law firm has hired Matthew Kellett as a partner in its structured finance and tax division.
Kellett was previously a banking partner at Linklaters, leading the financial structuring practice before joining AIG Financial Products.
More recently, he spent four years at the Royal Bank of Scotland as UK head of financial structuring, with primary responsibility for the bank’s capital, tax efficient investment and fundraising business.
Treveria Asset Management
The German retail-focused real estate investment firm has appointed Dr Bernhard Fuhrmann as its new chief financial officer.
Fuhrmann, 46, previously worked at Commerzbank as chief operating officer of the commercial real estate division.
He was also formerly head of finance, controlling and tax at Eurohypo and held a number of positions at Deutsche Bank.
DTZ
David Schaefer has been appointed as head of the real estate advisory firm’s investment management division in the Asia-Pacific region.
Schaefer, who also takes on the role of the group’s global head of institutional capital, was most recently a managing director and head of the Asia-Pacific operations at Citi Property Investors.
He has also worked as head of Asian property at Macquarie Bank.
Cookson Group
The materials science group has hired Jeff Harris, the chairman of Filtrona, to its board as a non-executive director, effective from April.
Harris will assume the chairmanship of the firm at the close of its AGM on 13 May. He has also previously held board positions at Bunzl, Associated British Foods and Anzag.
Tunstall Heathcare
The telehealthcare group, which employs over 1,000 people and operates in 30 countries worldwide, has appointed Gil Baldwin as its new chief executive.
Baldwin previously spent four years at Aviva, as managing director of its health business. Prior to that, he was operations director at Norwich Union.
