Santander
The Spanish banking group has appointed Damian McGann as head of business development in its corporate banking team.
McGann has over 20 years of experience in the sector and joins from Lloyds Banking Group, where he previously headed up substantial businesses in the Midlands and Scotland.
He will focus on a range of businesses, from SMEs to Santander’s major corporate clients.
Henderson Global Investors
The fund management group has appointed Brigid Jackson as an investment director in its fixed income team, effective from 5 May.
Jackson was previously at Barclays Global Investors, now part of BlackRock, where she has been a fixed income strategist since 2007. She originally joined BGI in 2000 from JP Morgan Investment Management.
Rothschild
The bank has hired Nandu Patel as a managing director in its private banking and trust business.
Patel joins from Morgan Stanley’s private wealth management division, where he has worked since 1990, most recently as co-head of one of its UK investment adviser teams. While there, he worked with a wide variety of clients including UK charities, UK domiciled and non-domiciled individuals, non-resident Indians and clients of east or south African origin.
Mercer
Peter Baynham has been appointed by the consultancy firm as head of M&A consulting for the UK and Ireland.
Prior to this, Baynham led Mercer’s private equity M&A team in the UK and was previously commercial and strategic director with Norwich Union Investment Management (now Morley Fund Managers). He has also previously worked for RBS NatWest and accountancy firm Price Waterhouse.
Hassium Asset Management
The wealth manager has promoted Simon Black to the position of director and junior partner, after he joined the firm in 2007.
Hassium was founded by chief executive Yogi Dewan, a former Goldman Sachs executive director, to provide a bespoke investment management service to wealthy private families in the UK and Europe.
