CITY MOVES WHO’S SWITCHING JOBS
Ambrian Partners
The stockbroking firm has appointed Philip Dorgan, one of the most respected retail analysts in the market, to its research team.
Dorgan has been a retail analyst at rival broker Panmure Gordon for the past 13 years, latterly as head of research.
He was also head of European retail at Goldman Sachs between 1988 and 1994, and has held positions at Société Générale and Scrimgeour Kemp.
Eden Financial
The broker and asset manager has hired Alison Monk and Rupert Boyle from Barclays Wealth to join its growing wealth management division.
The pair join as senior investment managers, reporting to Curtis Childs, managing director of wealth management.
Monk spent 15 years at Barclays Wealth and Boyle nine years, as an assistant vice president and investment manager respectively.
Foresight Group
The alternative asset management group has appointed James Samworth as an investment manager in its environmental investment team.
Samworth has over 10 years of experience at steel group Corus, where he led key commercial accounts supplying steel construction and manufactured goods to customers.
He also has investment experience within banking and private equity in the environmental, natural resources and industrial sectors, gained at Deutsche Bank, Lyceum Capital Partners and Next Wave Ventures.
Barclaycard
Jim Wadsworth has been hired by the credit card firm as head of strategic product management, responsible for driving forward Barclaycard’s pre-paid card activities in the public and private sectors.
Wadsworth previously worked at JP Morgan, where, for the past two years, he has been responsible for developing and launching its pre-paid and commercial card offerings in the UK and Europe. He was also formerly chief marketing officer of mobile payment group Simpay.
Media Corporation
The advertising and publishing group has appointed Chris Gorman, OBE as a non-executive director after its acquisition of internet gaming firm Purple Lounge. Gorman, 42, is currently chairman of Purple Lounge and of the Entrepreneurial Exchange, and governor of the Royal Scottish Academy for Music and Drama.
NewRiver Retail
The commercial property investment and asset management firm has appointed Mark Davies as finance director to its board.
Davies previously worked on the London real estate team at Grant Thornton; as head of real estate at Pannell Kerr Foster; and as group chief financial and operating officer at Exemplar Properties and Omega Land.
