St Modwen Properties
The property group has appointed Katherine Innes Ker, pictured, and Lesley James as non-executive directors.
Innes Ker currently holds non-executive directorships at Taylor Wimpey and Tribal Group, while James, who also becomes chair of the remuneration committee, was formerly group human resources director at Tesco and a non-executive at retailers Liberty International and Selfridges.
Armajaro
The financial services and commodities group has appointed four senior staff from JPMorgan to join its newly-established Armajaro Derivatives subsidiary.
Adrian Brickell, Henry Morriss, James Nuttall and Anil Dharan are moving over from the investment bank’s commodities group.
Brickell, who was previously global head of agricultural commodities at JPMorgan, and Morriss will both join the board of the new firm.
Citigroup
The bank has appointed Jing Zhao and Simon Yoo as co-heads of its financial institutions group (FIG) in the Asia Pacific region.
Zhao is currently chairman of China investment banking at the firm, a role which she will continue to hold despite her broadened responsibilities, while Yoo is head of financial entrepreneurs group in Japan.
In addition, Ashish Bajaj joins the FIG team as head of financial institutions relationship management.
European Directories
The internet search firm has hired Ben Legg, formerly the chief operating officer for Europe at web giant Google, as its new chief operating officer.
Prior to joining Google, Legg was vice president of sales for Coca-Cola’s operations in India and commercial director for the drinks group in Poland.
Winckworth Sherwood
Carol Ellinas is joining the law firm as a partner in its private client division, effective immediately.
Ellinas advises on all areas of family and matrimonial law, with particular expertise acting for professionals in the banking and media sectors and in legal disputes involving family-owned businesses.
She joins from solicitors Bross Bennet, where she was also a partner.
Essenden
The leisure group has appointed Richard Darwin as its new finance director designate, effective from the beginning of next year.
Darwin, who replaces current finance director Simon Prew, who is leaving at the beginning of next year, has held senior finance roles at a number of public and private companies including accountants Coopers and Lybrand, drinks group Diageo and film production firm Paramount Holdings.
