GLG Partners
The asset management group has appointed Raffaele Costa as its new co-head of marketing.
Costa, 40, has worked at GLG since it was founded in 1995, when he joined as a portfolio manager specialising in US and European equities. Prior to that, he was at Goldman Sachs.
Costa will now work alongside co-chief executive Emmanuel Roman to develop the firm’s global product and distribution strategy.
Société Générale
The bank has appointed Nick Heptinstall as its new London-based M&A managing director for the UK, Benelux and Nordic countries, as part of a reshuffle of its international M&A capabilities.
Heptinstall, who also holds the role of head of financial sponsor coverage for the same region, joined the group in 2001 from Merrill Lynch, where he was a director in the M&A department focusing on financial sponsor transactions in Europe.
Jones Lang LaSalle
The property group has hired Nick McConnell as an associate director in the London-based out of town retail investment team, reporting to director Tim Vallance.
McConnell joins from Knight Frank, where he spent just under three years in the out of town division.
Aspect Capital
The investment management firm has appointed Eduardo Deschapelles to the position of senior North American sales executive, responsible for developing the firm’s institutional sales efforts in the US.
Deschapelles joins from Meridian Capital Partners, where he was a partner and business development manager. He has also previously held alternative investment roles at the likes of Citigroup, Merrill Lynch and JP Morgan Chase.
MSCI Barra
Roger Urwin has joined the investment products provider as an advisory director, advising on key projects within the international asset owner community.
Urwin will conduct the role on a part-time basis in addition to his position as global head of investment content at Towers Watson.
Alcentra
The asset manager, which focuses on sub-investment grade debt, has reshuffled its senior management team.
Paul Hatfield, currently head of US operations, becomes the firm’s global CIO, based in London.
Current head of business development Julian Colville and senior US portfolio manager Ron Grobeck have been named co-head of the US business.
And Simon Perry, who joined last year from UBS, has been promoted to head of business development for the EMEA ex-Japan region.
