Jupiter
The asset manager has appointed John Chatfeild-Roberts as chief investment officer.
Chatfeild-Roberts joined the firm in 2001 as head of the Jupiter Merlin fund of funds team, a role in which he will continue.
Since 2000, Edward Bonham Carter has combined the chief investment officer role with his position as chief executive of Jupiter.
Barclays Wealth
The wealth management group has appointed Tim O’Connor as a director in its intermediaries division.
O’Connor, who will be based in London, previously worked as a consultant in the intermediary market and headed the external asset manager business at UBS.
He will report to Ian Burns, managing director at Barclays Wealth Intermediaries.
Eden Financial
The brokerage and asset management firm has recruited Alex Khan as a senior investment adviser.
Khan has seven years of experience in private client broking with Arjent Limited, where he specialised in US equities. With his strong business development skills, he will now focus on raising assets for Eden’s core investment propositions, including bespoke portfolio management and global multi-asset class investing.
Berwin Leighton Paisner
Mark Tothill has joined the law firm as its new finance director and a member of the board.
Tothill joins from rival Linklaters, where he has worked since 2002 in the roles of UK finance director and group chief financial officer.
Prior to that, he worked in finance positions at Cable and Wireless and qualified as an accountant at Price Waterhouse in 1990.
Caxton FX
The foreign exchange firm has appointed Derek Taylor as head of trading, following its recent move to new headquarters at Hyde Park Corner.
Taylor was formerly head of global sales at Banca di Roma, where he set up the sales desk, focusing on forex, liquidity and capital markets.
Chief executive Rupert Lee Browne said: “Taylor’s extensive experience within the financial sector will offer great value to our clients as the currency markets continue to be so volatile.”
Wesleyan Assurance Society
Phil Green, the chief executive of insurance association LIMRA Europe, has been appointed as a non-executive at Wesleyan, the financial services specialist for doctors, lawyers and teachers.
Green has extensive experience in the insurance sector, having previously worked as senior vice president of marketing and distribution at AIG until 2005 and spent 18 years at Sun Life of Canada in a number of roles.
