KPMG
Stuart Westgate has been appointed as director of KPMG’s major project advisory practice, which advises clients on construction and transport projects that are either in play or running over time or budget. Westgate joins KPMG from The Nichols Group, where he spent the last ten years leading programmes for infrastructure clients. For the last two years, Westgate worked on secondment to Crossrail, where he managed the above-ground element of the scheme.
Aegon Asset Management
Stephen Snowden has been appointed to Aegon Asset Management’s fixed income team with the aim of expanding its fixed income expertise with a focus on the investment grade market. Snowden joins Aegon from Old Mutual Asset Management, where he was responsible for the £747m Old Mutual Corporate Bond Fund.
Baring Asset Management
The international investment manager has appointed Thomas Kwan as head of Asian debt. Kwan, who will be responsible for Barings’ Asian debt investments, joins Barings’ Hong Kong team from ICBC Credit Suisse Asset Management in Beijing.
Williams de Broe
Douglas Spence has been appointed as investment director in Williams de Broë’s Edinburgh office. He joins from Standard Life Wealth, where he controlled discretionary investment management services for private clients, trusts and pension schemes.
Towers Watson
Helen Dowsey has been appointed as a senior investment consultant in the defined contributions business of the professional services company. Dowsey moves to Towers Watson from Aon Hewitt, where she has been a principal for the past three years.
St James’ Place
The wealth management group has confirmed that Colin Jelley will join the firm as divisional director for the firm’s private clients in May. Jelley joins from Skandia, where he was head of tax and financial planning.
White & Case
Hugues Mathez has been appointed as a partner in the Paris office of international law firm White & Case to grow its global M&A and corporate capabilities. Prior to the move to W&C, Mathez worked for more than 20 years at law firm Gide Loyrette Nouel, where he advised French-listed companies on capital issuance, stock repurchases and corporate governance.
