The accountancy firm has appointed Jonathan Summers to its information technology advisory team as a director focusing on strategic rationalisation, the process of removing technology complexity to improve business performance.
Summer has over 14 years of experience with IBM, where his roles included establishing a global delivery capability for data migration in India.
JEFFERIES
The banking group has expanded its global mergers and acquisitions investment banking team with the appointment of Tariq Hussain as a managing director in London.
Hussain has 14 years of investment banking experience, 12 of which were spent at Dresdner Kleinwort, where he held roles such as co-head of European M&A and global head of the financial buyers group.
OLIVETREE SECURITIES
The equities intermediary brokerage firm has appointed James Netherthorpe as chief operating officer and head of distribution.
Netherthorpe joins the firm in October from hedge fund manager Marshall Wace, where he was a partner responsible for developing the group’s trading capabilities. Prior to that, he spent five years in pan-European equity sales trading at Goldman Sachs.

The investment manager has appointed Donald Reid as chief operating officer.
Reid was formerly head of operations at UBS Wealth Management and operations director and finance director at Barclays Stockbrokers and Barclays Wealth Management.
USS
The Universities Superannuation Scheme has appointed Michael Dymond as a portfolio manager for private capital funds.
Dymond will focus on the selection of private equity funds and report to head of alternative assets Mike Powell. He previously worked as a senior associate within the private equity fund of funds team at Pinebridge Investments.
DELOITTE
The business advisory firm has expanded its pensions practice with the hire of two senior partners from PwC.
Richard Slater and Mark McClintock join from PwC’s Edinburgh and Belfast offices respectively.
