Deloitte
The accountancy giant has appointed Nick Sanderson to head up its real estate corporate finance advisory business.
Sanderson joins Deloitte as a partner from Japanese bank Nomura, where he was a managing director and head of real estate investment banking. He has also previously worked at Lehman Brothers and UBS and has 10 years of experience in the real estate investment banking sector.
Legal & General
The insurance group has promoted Andrea Blance to the position of chief risk officer, effective from August.
Blance, who will also join the group’s executive committee, is currently group financial controller at L&G.
KPMG
The accountancy firm’s London office has taken on Mazyar Kotwal as a director in its
international markets team.
Kotwal, who has been seconded from KPMG’s Mumbai office, will be working with Ian Gomes, chairman of the firm’s high growth markets practice, in helping to assist companies in Europe seeking to invest in India and vice versa.
He started his career with Arthur Andersen in 1994 and has spent the past six years at KPMG in India.
Matrix Group
Matrix has appointed Matthew Earl and Tom Gadsby to its investment banking division
as analysts.
Earl covers the business service sector and joins from Charles Stanley Securities, while Gadsby, a retail sector specialist, was previously head of global food retail research at Societe Generale.
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer
Gil Strauss is to join the law firm’s London practice in September as a partner in the high yield team.
Strauss is an experienced US corporate finance and securities lawyer and joins from Simpson Thacher & Barlett.
