Cobham
The aerospace and defence systems group has appointed National Express chairman John Devaney as its new non-executive chairman, effective from February.
Devaney, 62, has a wealth of experience in the business world. He has just stepped down as a non-executive director at Northern Rock, and has also previously been chairman of technology and telecoms group Marconi and chief executive of Eastern Electricity.
Allium Capital
The financial advisory group has appointed Lindsay Coates to its relationship management team.
Coates, 32, was previously at investment firm Cofunds. Prior to that, she was in Australia, working in relationship management roles supporting companies such as the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Suncorp, and also worked at Deutsche Bank in the UK.
Northern Trust
The investment management, asset and fund administration services provider has named Alan Robertson as global head for sales and service for Northern Trust Global Investments, its multi-asset class investment management unit.
Robertson was previously chief executive and president of the bank’s global advisors unit.
Barclays Wealth
Barclays’ wealth management and financial advisory unit has appointed Linda Willis Eydt as a director and regional manager of its Atlanta office.
She was most recently an executive director at UBS Financial Services.
Burford Capital
The commercial dispute investment firm, chaired by ex-Barclays boss Sir Peter Middleton, has appointed Jonathan Molot as its new chief investment officer and a full equity partner, having chaired the group’s investment committee since inception.
The group has also appointed former Latham & Watkins senior partner Peter Benzian as managing director of its US subsidiary, Burford Group LLC.
Vertex
Andrew Chamberlain has joined the management outsourcing business as chief technology officer, responsible for leading the company’s IT operations, enterprise architecture division and service management.
Chamberlain has over 20 years of experience at executive board level at American Express, where he was head of technologies for the EMEA region, and at energy group Centrica.
Penfida
The corporate finance firm has hired Julian Goodwin, Lee Yeomans and Daniel Lappage to its team, which specialises in advising pension fund boards.
Goodwin is a former director of investment bank Lazard and a managing director of ABN Amro, while Lee Yeomans was previously a senior vice president at Gleacher Shacklock and Lappage was a senior associate from Jeffries Puttnam Lovell.
