DFS
The sofa retailer, which was recently sold by founder Lord Kirkham to private equity group Advent International for £500m, has ended its search for a new chief executive.
Ian Filby has thirty years of retail experience, including a recent stint working as interim chief executive at Nectar. He was also previously retail brand development director and trading director at Alliance Boots, where he worked alongside DFS chairman Richard Baker.
AXA
The insurance giant has appointed Mike Kellard as chief executive of the new Axa Wealth business and as a member of the Axa UK board.
Kellard is also chairman of the Winterthur Pension Trustees UK board and chief executive of Architas Multi-Manager, both businesses under the Axa Wealth brand.
GE CAPITAL
The commercial finance provider has appointed two new retail directors in the Greater London area, Oliver Sutton and Alan Austin.
Sutton, who will also cover the home counties, was previously regional director for the group’s equipment finance business, having rejoined GE Capital in 2007 after a stint working for Davenham Group.
Austin, who will also cover the South, previously worked at companies such as Landsbanki and Lloyds TSB.
JONES LANG LASALLE
Will Heigham has been hired as an associate director at the real estate financial and professional services group, where he will work in the London-based national office agency tenant representation team.
Heigham has 10 years of experience working in the City, advising corporate occupiers on their property strategy.
UNION BANCAIRE PRIVÉE
The Swiss private bank has appointed Michel Longhini, formerly head of BNP Paribas Wealth Management, as managing director of its private banking division.
Longhini, who will also have a seat on the executive committee, has a wealth of experience in the Asia-Pacific region and will be tasked with opening up UBP’s business in Asia, the Middle East and eastern Europe.
ASHCOURT ROWAN
The wealth manager has appointed Martyn Houghton as an intermediary relationship manager.
Houghton, who will be based in Manchester, joins from Axa Winterthur Wealth Management.
