Deloitte
The accountancy firm has appointed UK partner Chris Harvey as the new head of its financial services group.
Harvey has been a partner since 2002 and has been global head of banking and securities since 2008. He will focus on growing the financial services business in Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Eastern Europe, having replaced Jack Ribeiro, who is now chair of the firm’s global financial services industry group.
Schroders
The asset manager has appointed Rory Bateman as head of European equities, effective immediately.
Bateman joined the group in early 2008 as head of European institutional portfolios. In his new role, he will continue to have responsibility for the core European equity portfolios and the team of research analysts.
GE Capital
James Fenner has been named as the new president and chief executive of GE Capital’s leveraged finance business, effective immediately.
Fenner was previously head of capital markets for the group in the EMEA region. Prior to joining GE in 2009, he was head of leveraged loan capital markets at Merrill Lynch.
AXA Investment Managers
The investment management firm has promoted Laurent Gueunier to head of AXA Structured Finance, effective from mid-October.
Gueunier joined the group in 2002 to set up the structured corporate credit department. Prior to that, he had spent three years in the financial institutions derivatives marketing team at JP Morgan Chase, where he was in charge of structuring and developing derivatives in France and Belgium.
HSBC Alternative Investments
The alternative investment firm has hired Amy McNally from Barclays Wealth as its new global marketing manager.
At Barclays, McNally was a product specialist covering alternative investments, a role involving the marketing and distribution of hedge funds, private equity and real estate products in the UK and EMEA region.
Prior to that, she worked in JP Morgan’s treasury services arm.
Freshfields
The law firm has appointed John Davies and Martin Klusmann to co-head its antitrust, competition and trade practice.
Davies was formerly managing partner of the firm’s Brussels office for a decade, while Klusmann managed the Düsseldorf office for the past four years.
