Northern Trust
The investment manager has appointed John Krieg to its London subsidiary, Northern Trust Global Investments, as managing director for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.
Krieg joins from the group’s HQ in Chicago, where he was head of global investment product management. Prior to joining Northern Trust in 2002, he was director of relationship management and fixed income products for TimesSquare Capital Management in New York.
NFU Mutual
The rural insurance group has appointed David Anderson, the former chief executive of Co-operative Financial Services, as a board director.
Anderson was also previously chief executive of Yorkshire Building Society and of Jobcentre Plus.
In addition, he has served as a member of the Treasury’s financial inclusion task force and a member of the executive committee of the Council of Mortgage Lenders.
RBC Capital Markets
The corporate and investment banking arm of Royal Bank of Canada has hired Martin Somerville as a director in its international oil and gas team in London.
Somerville joins from HitecVision Private Equity, where he was an investment director for the last three years. Prior to that, he held positions at KPMG Corporate Finance, SG Hambros and business advisers PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Jefferies
The bank has hired Mari-Laure Savelli-Timsit and Maxim-Alexandre Simon to its global fixed income group.
Savelli-Timsit becomes a managing director and head of rates sales in France, while Simon will be a vice president for rates sales.
Both join from ING Bank, where they held positions as deputy head of the financial institution desk and a credit and rates salesperson respectively.
