CITY MOVES WHO’S SWITCHING JOBS
The investment banking group has appointed Simon Whittley as an intermediary sales manager to its wealth management division.
Whittley will be responsible for increasing referral business from law firms, accountants, independent financial advisers and trust companies. He previously worked at Credit Suisse Private Bank, Arbuthnot Latham Investment Management and Close Wealth Management.
HSBC
Andrew Keen has been appointed by the bank as head of metals and mining equity research for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.
Keen was previously a metals and mining analyst at Sanford C. Berstein in London, having joined the firm in 2006.
He also formerly managed base and precious metals at the CRU Group, where he was responsible for commodity price forecasting and management consulting to the metals sector.
AOL
The internet services company has appointed Kate Burns as head of European sales.
Burns was previously vice president and managing director for Europe at AOL’s social media company, Bebo.
Prior to that, she was managing director of Dailymotion UK and director for UK, Ireland and Benelux at Google, which she joined in 2001 as the web giant’s first employee outside the US.

The IT financing company has appointed Frederick Yue, the former interim finance director of corporate banking at Lloyds Banking Group, as its new chief financial officer.
Yue originally joined Lloyds in 2007 to spearhead a major restructuring of the financial control and reporting department. He also previously worked as European chief finance officer of CIT Europe and finance director of ING Lease UK.

The online Forex trading services provider has hired Peg Reed as managing director of global sales.
Reed has previously worked for Bank of America, Standard Chartered, Barclays and the American International Group, where she made significant contributions to profitability as a currency trader and global client relationship manger.
PAAMCO
Pacific Alternative Asset Management Company, the $9bn (£5.6bn) fund of hedge funds, has promoted Philippe Jorion and Kemmy Koh to partner.
Jorion joined the firm three years ago as a director in the risk management group, while Koh is director of the firm’s Singapore office, having formerly served as internal sector specialist in event driven strategies.
Yahoo
The internet firm has appointed James Tipple to senior director of marketing for its European business. Tipple was previously consumer marketing director for Yahoo Europe and group marketing manager for Vodafone Live.
