Ashcourt Rowan
Ashcourt Rowan, the wealth management division of Syndicate Asset Management, has appointed Paul Miles as director of intermediary services. Miles joins Ashcourt Rowan from discretionary fund management platform Parmenion, where he was sales director for the last three years. Miles will report to Christopher Jeffreys, Syndicate’s director of asset management, who has been appointed as a director of Ashcourt Rowan.
Simmons & Simmons
The law firm has appointed Colin Passmore as its new senior director, following a vote by the company’s partnership. Passmore will take up the role on 1 August, succeeding David Dickinson, who is retiring. Passmore became a partner in 1990 and is currently head of litigation in London.
Noble Group
The commodities supply chain has appointed Li Rongrong, the former chairman of the Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, as non-executive director. Previously, he served as chairman of the State Economic and Trade Commission of the People’s Republic of China.
O Twelve
The Guernsey-based investment company has appointed Mark Donnor and Benjamin Warner as non-executive directors. Donnor serves as managing principal of Westbrook, and Warner is managing director of Europlan Group.
Planet Payment
The multicurrency payment and data processor has appointed Shane Kim as a non-executive director. Kim is a managing member of Camden Partners, a private equity firm specialising in business services, healthcare and education.
Barclays Wealth
The wealth manager has appointed Christian Kwek as managing director in its ultra high net worth team. Kwek previously spent eight years at BNP Paribas, most recently as head of the Equity Derivatives Group in London.
Artemis
Simon Edelsten and Alex Illingworth have joined the independent wealth manager as fund managers in the global equities team, where they will begin building a global stock-picking franchise for institutional and retail clients. Edelsten previously worked for Taube Hodson Stonex and Illingworth joins from Insight Investment.
Jones Day
The law firm has appointed Corinne Ball, the lawyer best-known for steering Chrysler through its 42-day bankruptcy, to lead the firm’s restructuring and distress M&A efforts in Europe.
Devro
The manufacturer has appointed Paul Withers as a non-executive director with immediate effect. Withers is currently a non-executive director of both Premier Farnell and Hyder Consulting.
