Begbies Traynor Group
The professional services consultancy has appointed Mark Fry as head of insolvency and restructuring. Fry joined the group in 2005 as a partner in its Insolvency and Restructuring division, rising to become both managing partner of the group’s London office and regional managing partner for London and the South East. His recent high-profile cases include the financial restructuring of Hull City FC and acting in an advisory capacity for 45 of the landlords of Southern Cross.
ICAP
The interdealer broker has appointed Mark Price as group chief operating officer, subject to FSA approval. Price, who will start on 3 October, joins ICAP from Deutsche Bank, where he was chief operating officer for global credit & emerging market debt.
Barclays Wealth
Andrew Tailby-Faulkes will join the wealth manager in September as a managing director within its Wealth Advisory business, reporting to the division’s head Rob Withecombe. Tailby-Faulkes is currently a senior private client partner at Ernst & Young in the UK, where he is also global markets leader for private client services.
Espírito Santo
Espírito Santo Investment Bank has appointed Andrew Fairclough as director of corporate broking. Fairclough joins from Evolution Securities, where he was a director of the Corporate Broking and Capital Markets team. The bank has also hired Gerald Khoo, formerly head of transport at Arbuthnot Securities, as a transport analyst.
State Street Global Advisors
The investment management business of State Street Corporation has appointed Enda McMahon as head of compliance for EMEA and Niall O’Leary as head of product engineering for EMEA. Both joined SSgA as a result of its acquisition of Bank of Ireland Asset Management earlier this year.
Rand Merchant Bank
Judith Mosely, formerly of Société Générale UK, has joined Rand Merchant Bank as business development director for the resources sector, focusing on international mining companies interested in developing their business in Africa.
Merrill Lynch Bank (Suisse)
Concetta Caruso, formerly global head of global instiutional operations at Capital Group, has been appointed as chief operating officer of Merrill Lynch Bank (Suisse). The Swiss bank has also appointed Sophie Chapuisat, formerly of Banque Heritage (Suisse), as global head of intermediary business and Christopher Robinson, formerly of Hinduja Bank, as head of legal for Merrill Lynch Bank (Suisse).
