Houlihan Lokey
Stephen Winningham has joined the international investment bank as managing director, and co-head of European corporate finance in the firm’s London office.
Winningham was until recently head of major corporates at Lloyds Banking Group, overseeing the group’s coverage of UK and US investment grade corporate clients. Prior to this, he was global head of Lloyds’ financial institutions business. He has also worked at Salomon Brothers/Citigroup in Hong Kong.
Pearson
The educational publisher has made two senior non-executive appointments, hiring Tamara Minick-Scokalo as president of Pearson Europe, Middle East, Africa and the Caribbean, and Bhavneet Singh will be joining Pearson as president, Global English. Minick-Scokalo joins from Trax, a privately funded technology business, where she is the chief executive, and Singh joins from Viacom International Media Networks where he was managing director and executive vice president of emerging markets.
Barclays Wealth
The global wealth manager has appointed Philippe Hofer as managing director and market head for Africa Offshore within International Private Bank, Europe Middle East and Africa (IPB EMEA). Philippe joins from UBS where he has worked for 23 years, including as market head for Africa and Turkey.
Shell
The energy giant has hired Suman Bery as chief economist from his role at the International Growth Centre, where he was most recently resident country director of the India Central programme. Suman also worked at the World Bank from 1972-2000 in a range of functions connected with economic research and country policy.
Quindell Portfolio
The brand extension company has made two appointments to its strategy and integration advisory board through a partnership with technology and consultancy firm 360 group. The company has appointed 360 chairman and chief executive Paul Stanley and board member Mark Jones to its advisory board. Jones has previously held senior management and consultancy roles at Natwest, Abbey, Royal Bank of Scotland, Direct Line, while Stanley has significant experience in the insurance industry, working with groups including Royal Insurance and Direct Line.
Allenby Capital Limited
The provider of corporate finance and broking services to smaller companies has hired Mark Connelly, Nick Harriss and Jeremy Porter as directors in its corporate finance team.
