Cable & Wireless
The telecoms company has appointed Ian Gibson as chief financial officer and executive director, with effect from 21 July. Gibson joined the group in 1995 and has held a number of senior management positions, most recently deputy chief financial officer. In 2009 he was appointed as acting chief financial officer and played a leading role in the demerger and listing of Cable & Wireless Worldwide. Before joining the group, Gibson spent 12 years at Deloitte.
Goldman Sachs
Goldman Sachs Group has hired Huw Pill of the European Central Bank to replace Erik Nielsen as its chief European economist. Pill will join the investment bank on 22 August in London after a decade at the Frankfurt-based ECB, where he was most recently deputy director general of research.
Amundi
Laurent Guillet will join the asset management firm as chief executive. Guillet joined Amundi Alternative Investments in 2007 as deputy chief executive.
Vestra
Mario De Bergolis will join the wealth management firm as head of operational due diligence of Vestra’s new hedge fund advisory service, where he will help clients looking for advice on alternative investments. De Bergolis joins Vestra from GlobeOp Financial Services.
Hastings Direct
Tobias van der Meer will join the insurance broker on 1 June as managing director of Hastings Retail. Tobias was formerly managing director of price comparison site moneysupermarket.
Fat Prophets
Chris Kimber has been appointed as managing director of wealth management at Fat Prophets, the independent research and investment management specialist. Kimber was formerly a stockbroker for 16 years at JBWere and Sons and Bell Potter Securities.
EC Harris
The built asset consultancy has appointed Mark Lacey as a partner in its commercial development team. Lacey joins from Davis Langdon, where he was head of offices, London.
Investec Capital Markets
Anand Ramachandran and Peter Watson have been appointed to the specialist bank’s aircraft finance team. Ramachandran has spent 12 years with Indian carriers including Kingfisher Airlines and Jet Airways, and Watson joins from Hong Kong Aviation Capital.
