RBS
Guy Wylie has been appointed head of primary markets, Asia Pacific at RBS. He has over 20 years’ experience in banking, and most recently worked at UBS as head of Asian debt capital markets and leveraged finance. Wylie previously joined RBS in 2005, after spending several years with JP Morgan and Arthur Andersen in Australia.
Premier
The asset management firm has appointed Neil Birrell to its investment team as manager of its alternative strategies fund. He was most recently at Elcot Capital, and he served as chief investment officer of Framlington Asset Management between 2001 and 2003. Birrell has worked in investment management for over 27 years.
PwC
The professional services firm has appointed Jonathan Howe as its UK insurance leader. He replaces Mark Stephens, who will increase his senior client responsibilities in the UK and Europe. Howe has 20 years’ experience in the insurance industry, and at PwC has specialised in restructuring and funding transactions.
Squire Sanders
The law firm has appointed Steven Norris as partner in its regulatory practice. He was previously partner and national head of regulated procurement at DLA Piper. Norris is a prominent procurement lawyer, and advised the Olympic Delivery Committee on procurement issues.
Stephenson Harwood
Graham Wrightson has been appointed pensions partner in the law firm’s employment and pensions practice. He joins from Mercer, the human resources advisory, where he was partner and head of legal consulting in the UK. Wrightson specialises in advising trustees and employers on pensions issues.
i2i Events Group
Richard Baker has been appointed chief operating officer of the exhibition and events company. He was previously the company’s group operational director, and joined the firm in 1994 when it was known as Emap.
Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher
The law firm has appointed Kirsten O’Connell as an international arbitration associate in Dubai. She joins from the London office of WilmerHale, where she worked in its international arbitration group. O’Connell is a US qualified attorney and a specialist in commercial arbitration and litigation.
