Thomas Eggar
The law firm has announced the appointment of James Letchford to its London property team as a senior associate. Letchford trained and qualified at Ashurst before spending six years at Nabarro, and will join Thomas Eggar’s London team, led by property partner Chris Baker. He has particular experience in sales, acquisitions, development, leasing and financing for clients including institutional investors, FTSE property companies and UK and international property funds.
AXA Investment Managers
The asset management company has named Benjamin Rumary as its investment sales manager for the Channel Islands, Ireland and South West. Rumary joins from LV Asset Management, where he was investment sales manager for London and the south of England. He has also worked for Fidelity Investments.
Nomura
Nomura has appointed Kieran Poynter as non-executive chairman of Nomura International and Nomura Europe Holdings, subsidiaries of Nomura Holdings. Poynter, 61, is a former chairman of accountancy firm PwC and joined the board of both Nomura subsidiaries in November 2009. He will be replacing Colin Marshall, who is stepping down due to ill health.
Granite Investment Advisors
The investment adviser has named Peter McManus as senior vice president, head of institutional sales. McManus joins from Cadence Capital Management in Boston.
Bank of America Merrill Lynch
The investment bank yesterday announced a new leadership team for Italy, including the appointment of Luigi Gubitosi as country executive and head of corporate and investment banking for Italy. Enrico Chiapparoli and Diego Selva have been appointed co-heads of investment banking for Italy. Bank of America Merrill Lynch is currently joint-leading the syndicate of banks that are advising Italian bank Unicredit on its €7.5bn capital raising.
Towergate Insurance
Phillip Moore, group finance director at LV=, will join Truett Tate and James Stachran as an independent non-executive director at the insurance group. Moore will also be chair of the audit committee at Towergate, though the move is subject to approval from the Financial Services Authority.

The law firm has announced the election of 21 new partners globally, effective from 1 January 2012. In London, Melissa Butler will become a capital markets partner and Paul Harrison will join the project finance practice.
