Barclays Corporate
Barclays Corporate has appointed Tan Kah Chye as head of trade and working capital, joining from Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore, where he held the position of global head of trade finance for the past six years. At Barclays, Chye will use his experience in senior trade finance roles in Asia and Europe to develop the bank’s trade business in Asia and the US. Chye has also held senior trade finance positions with Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan Chase and Citibank.
Insolvency Practitioners
Patrick Brazzill has been named president of the Insolvency Practitioners Association for the next year. Brazzill is an executive director at Ernst & Young, where he leads the liquidations and strategic exit routes practice, and worked as an examiner at the Insolvency Service for four years.
Barclays Wealth
The wealth manager has made two hires in its investment advisory team. Jean-Pierre Casey, who previously worked as head of regulatory policy at the firm, has been appointed as director and Adrian J Eisenberg, who previously worked at Guggenheim Investment Advisors, joins as vice president.
Hastings Direct
Michael Lee will join as the new managing director of insurer services in late June, ahead of the company’s planned IPO next year. Lee spent almost a decade with Provident Insurance, and also co-founded Southern Rock Holdings, moving to Gibraltar as managing director of Southern Rock Insurance Company.
BOA Merrill Lynch
Anupam Gupta has joined as managing director and head of CEEMEA structuring, based in London. Gupta joins from JP Morgan where he was global head of emerging markets stucturing.
Macquarie Capital
Macquarie Capital has appointed Simon Wilde as senior managing director and head of power and utilities coverage in Europe. Wilde joins Macquarie from Royal Bank of Scotland, where he was managing director and co-head of EMEA energy and resources.
Duke Street
The European private equity firm has appointed two operating partners: Martin Robinson, a specialist in the leisure sector who is currently chairman of Center Parcs and a supervising board director of Disneyland Paris, and Johanna Waterous, a retail and consumer expert with more than 20 years’ experience at McKinsey.
