Cinven
The private equity firm has made several appointments at Guardian Financial Services, the UK consolidator of closed life assurance funds acquired by Cinven in August. Jonathan Yates (pictured), formerly group finance director of Phoenix Group, joins as chief executive; Paul Dixon joins from Phoenix as chief investment officer; and Simon Davis, who previously ran his own consulting business, joins as chief risk officer.
Bluewater Bio
Bluewater Bio International, the water treatment firm, has appointed water industry expert Lloyd Martin as senior adviser, focusing on the Middle East. Martin has held several senior positions in UK water companies, including regional director at Severn Trent Services International and business development manager at Anglian Water International.
PwC
Mark McCaffrey has been appointed as global software leader for the technology industry group at PwC. McCaffrey joined the New Jersey assurance practice of PwC in 1994 before transferring to the software practice in the San Jose office in 1995.
XP Power
The electronics manufacturer has appointed Jonathan Rhodes as finance director. Rhodes joined the finance team of XP Power in July 2008 as European controller; prior to joining the group, he spent nine years at JCDecaux, where he held senior financial positions including head of financial reporting.
Cerberus Capital Management
Allen Ukritnukun has joined Cerberus as head of European corporate distressed trading and investing, based in London. He will manage a team focused on European and Asian distressed investing, including financials, sovereign debt and structured credit. Prior to joining Cerberus, Ukritnukun was a managing director at Goldman Sachs in the global credit division, responsible for European private distressed trading and investing.
