Burford Capital
Burford Capital, a global finance firm focused on law, has expanded its team in London. Leeor Cohen has been appointed vice president. Most recently a director in the leveraged finance business at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Leeor joins Burford’s global investment team with a broad range of experience as a lawyer, investment banker and management. Tristan Feunteun joins as vice president of Burford’s underwriting and investment arm in London. He was formerly an associate and director of case development on the competition litigation team at Stewarts Law. Tristan has also practised at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
LendInvest
Stephan Wilcke, former executive chairman of OneSavings Bank, has joined LendInvest, the UK’s £660m online lender for property finance, as a senior adviser. Stephan’s financial services career spans nearly 25 years and he was at OneSavings Bank until it became the first challenger bank to IPO in London in June 2014. Previously, Stephan was chief executive of the Treasury’s Asset Protection Agency, that ran from 2009 to 2012 to help the UK’s most troubled banks repair their balance sheets and stem losses caused by toxic assets. Stephan is currently a commissioner of the Jersey Financial Services Commission, and chairman of Amigo Loans. He is a former non-executive director of Greece’s Hellenic Financial Stability Fund.
Capgemini Consulting
Capgemini Consulting, the global strategy and transformation consulting arm of the Capgemini Group, has announced the appointment of Patrick Vance as a vice president in the UK financial services team. Patrick has over 20 years’ experience working in the financial sector. He joins from KPMG where he specialised in financial sector regulation and worked with retail banking and insurance clients, running large scale and complex projects to address legacy issues and to develop strategies to address future compliance challenges. He also held the role of the chief operating officer of KPMG’s financial risk management business. Prior to KPMG, he worked for the Personal Investment Authority and at Barclays Wealth and Barclays Retail.
Allianz Engineering
Ian Nichol has been appointed London underwriting manager at Allianz Engineering. He re-joins the business from HSB, where he worked as construction and engineering underwriting manager. Prior to this, Ian worked at Allianz for 15 years as senior underwriting manager in Liphook.
