Victoria
Michael Scott been appointed group finance director of Aim 50-listed floorcovering designers and manufacturers Victoria. Michael joins after eight years at Rothschild, where, as part of its global financial advisory business, he worked across a wide range of public and private company transactions, mergers and acquisitions and debt and equity-related fundraisings. He qualified as a chartered accountant with PwC.
Capita Asset Services
Capita Asset Services has appointed Kit Atkinson as head of IPO execution. Kit joins Capita from JP Morgan Securities and brings a wealth of expertise in equity capital markets, corporate advisory and finance and operational management.
National House Building Council
Carol Davies has been appointed head of human resources at the National House Building Council (NHBC), which aims to raise construction standards of new homes in the UK and provide consumer protection for homebuyers. Carol comes with extensive experience of the insurance and building society sectors. She spent many years in a variety of human resources roles at Nationwide Building Society and more recently has been associate director, group HR for the BGL Group.
K&L Gates
Global law firm K&L Gates has added John Gilbert as a partner in the firm’s energy and international arbitration practices. He joins K&L Gates from Pinsent Masons in London, and previously was a member of the dispute resolution team at BP, where he handled global commercial disputes. John’s experience includes oil and gas exploration and production, gas sales agreements, the construction and functioning of pipelines and refining operations, and marketing. He has also advised on power generation and transmission, including from renewable sources.
Baker & McKenzie
Baker & McKenzie has bolstered its dispute resolution and corporate tax capabilities in London with the appointments of banking litigation partner Hugh Lyons and transfer pricing specialist Jukka Karjalainen as tax leader of the UK business transformation practice. Both join the global law firm this month. Hugh joins from Hogan Lovells where he has been a partner for over 10 years. Jukka joins from Deloitte where he was tax leader of their UK business model optimisation practice and a partner in their London transfer pricing group.
