International Property Securities Exchange
IPSX (the new operating brand for the London Real Estate Exchange) has announced the appointment of Robert Bould as a non-executive director. Rob recently stepped down as chief executive of GVA Bilfinger (previously GVA Grimley), an international property agent and advisory firm, and executive vice president of Bilfinger Real Estate. Having started his career at Grimley & Son in Birmingham, he held various roles in the business including head of investment and chairman of GVA’s Capital Markets Group. Rob’s clients have included Carlyle Real Estate Partners – including advising on the £710m White Tower Portfolio transaction during the financial crisis – as well as Derwent London, Argent Skanska, Palmer Capital, and LaSalle Investment Management.
The Enterprise Investment Scheme Association
The Enterprise Investment Scheme Association has appointed Mark Brownridge as its new director general. Mark will take up the post on 1 August, joining from Mazars Financial Planning, where he is head of research and development. He takes over from John Glencross, chief executive of Calculus Capital, who has been acting director general since Sarah Wadham stood down at the end of March.
Abbey Legal
Abbey Legal, the specialist legal expenses insurance and legal services provider, has appointed Richard Brooks as its sales director. Richard’s role is to assist with the development/strategy of Abbey Legal’s business, with a particular focus on our distribution partners. This is a new position, and Richard joins Abbey Legal after almost 28 years in the insurance industry, having spent the majority of that time successfully leading sales and multi-line underwriting teams responsible for up to £128m GWP, operating from a variety of locations and trading with broking partners of all shapes and sizes across London with Aviva, originally for Commercial Union and latterly the south east with Travelers.
Withers
International law firm Withers has appointed Alix Prentice to lead the institutional advisory practice of its financial services regulatory group. Alix is a former regulator with the Financial Services Authority and a lateral partner hire from Taylor Wessing. She has also worked in the London practices of major US firms. Alix specialises in institutional regulatory advice for all types of businesses regulated by the Prudential Regulatory Authority and Financial Conduct Authority.
