Deverell Smith
Deverell Smith, specialists in temporary and permanent property recruitment, has announced the appointment of Prunella Milligan as head of new homes temporary recruitment. Prunella previously worked for Deverell Smith for three and a half years from 2010 in business support recruitment before joining Savills in 2013 as an onsite new homes sales negotiator. During her time at Savills, Prunella worked on The Eagle with Mount Anvil and more recently at Capital and Counties' Lillie Square, phase one of the Earls Court Master Plan.
Bryan Cave
International law firm Bryan Cave LLP has expanded in Germany with the addition of Dr Hubertus Schroder and Tonio Sadoni – two new lawyers who will practice in the areas of corporate and M&A. Hubertus joins the team as counsel. For many years, he has been advising on all aspects of corporate/M&A matters and in distressed situations. He joins from Gibson Dunn in Munich. He has also previously worked at Ashurst in London and Munich. Tonio joins Bryan Cave’s Hamburg office as an associate. He advises on national and international transactions, corporate matters and general commercial law. He specialises in joint ventures and private equity. He has represented clients in a number of industries, with a particular focus on the life sciences/healthcare sector, nutrition industry and hotel business. Before joining Bryan Cave, Tonio worked in the Hamburg corporate department of Latham & Watkins.
Wiggin
Media, technology and IP law firm Wiggin has announced the promotion of Gurminder Panesar and Rachel Alexander to partners, effective 1 April 2016. These promotions bring the total number of partners to 25. Gurminder leads Wiggin’s brand management and trademarks team, overseeing global trademark portfolios for a number of high-profile brands. He qualified in 2004 at King's College London. Gurminder also holds an MA in intellectual property management, and specialises in IP, brand management and technology matters, and works with creative businesses to help them to protect their IP and grow. Gurminder is an allied member of the Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys and an active member of the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association. Rachel works in the firm’s intellectual property group. She has been involved in cases, including the high-profile Newzbin and Cartier cases, which have developed precedents and procedures for obtaining injunctions requiring internet service providers (ISP) to block access to pirate and counterfeit websites. She advises media clients in a number of sectors on a wide range of contentious media and commercial matters. Having been seconded to the BPI (British Recorded Music Industry) for six months, she gained invaluable experience of rights protection in a music industry context. Rachel has acted for the major Hollywood studios in cases that have developed precedents and procedures for obtaining injunctions requiring ISPs to impede access to online locations.
