Tibbalds
Tibbalds Planning and Urban Design has named Matt Shillito as consultant planner and has appointed Fiona Sibley as senior planner. Matt rejoins Tibbalds after spending 10 years living overseas, where he was a senior planner for Vancouver’s planning and development services. Fiona brings over three years’ experience in the industry. Having worked at other planning consultancies, Fiona was features editor for Design Week Magazine, as well as a freelance journalist writing for publications such as Dezeen, Grand Designs Magazine and the Guardian. Fiona’s previous projects include the urban extension of Harlow across the 1,010ha Gilston Park Estate, as well as a mixed-use regeneration scheme in Maidenhead town centre and the redevelopment of a listed building on Green Belt land in south Buckinghamshire.
Baker & McKenzie
Global law firm Baker & McKenzie has appointed Nicola Northway as partner in its global antitrust and competition law practice. Nicola joins from Barclays where she is currently managing director of the global competition team overseeing the bank’s global antitrust and competition law capabilities. Prior to joining Barclays, Nicola spent four years at gas and electricity regulator Ofgem, including three years as its general counsel and one as its deputy general counsel.
Edison Group
Edison Group, the international equity research and investor access firm, has appointed Tom Teichman as chairman to support its continued global growth plans. Tom started his career in insurance at Willis Faber before joining Bankers Trust as an economist. He moved to Credit Suisse then Bank of Montreal Nesbitt Thomson ultimately becoming head of European investment banking before taking his investment banking acumen to the technology sector in the early 1990s just as the full potential of the internet was being realised for general business growth.
Edison Group
Stephensons, the national full service law firm, has announced its most recent round of partner appointments. Claire Mooney joined the firm in 2009, was appointed an associate in 2012 and is recognised by the Law Society’s clinical negligence accreditation scheme. Mark Fenning joined the firm in 2005 and now heads up the firm’s legal expense insurance and new business services. Paul Webb joined the firm in 2002 as a graduate clerk and became a trainee in September 2003. For the past two years he has been managing the firm’s family team at the Altrincham office.
