Rowan Dartington
Fiona Richards has been appointed chief operating officer (COO) of wealth management firm Rowan Dartington. Fiona will be responsible for driving operational efficiencies and the development and execution of the firm’s strategic priorities. Fiona comes to the firm with 20 years’ diversified experience in consulting and operations across the global financial services industry. Most recently, she worked at Deutsche Bank, where she was managing director, COO and head of strategy. Rowan Dartington’s chief executive David Hobbs said: “We are thrilled to welcome Fiona to the executive team to help the firm continue to drive forward our strategic plans and growth ambitions.”Fiona will take over the role from Adrian Clark following his retirement after two years at the company.
CRH
Building materials firm CRH yesterday announced the appointment of Richie Boucher as its new chairman. The FTSE 100 company employs around 90,000 people in 32 countries. Richie will succeed the present chairman, Nicky Hartery, on 1 January 2020. Richie was chief executive of Bank of Ireland Group between February 2009 and October 2017, and has previously held a number of key senior management roles within Bank of Ireland, Royal Bank of Scotland and Ulster Bank. Commenting on the move, CRCH chairman Nicky Hartery said: “With a track record of creating value for shareholders, [Richie] is ideally equipped to lead the board through the next phase of the group’s development.”
Equals Group
E-banking and international payments firm Equals Group has appointed Richard Cooper in a newly-created executive board position as group finance director. Richard joins the board with extensive public market and growth company experience. He was the chief financial officer of GVC Holdings, one of the world’s largest sports betting and gaming groups, from 2008 to 2017. He was also a non-executive director and chairman of the Audit Committee of Sportech from May 2017 to October 2018. Richard is currently a non-executive director of two small quoted companies: VR Education Holdings, a technology focused education company, and NewGiocco, an online sports betting company. Equals Group chief executive officer Ian Strafford-Taylor commented on Richard’s appointment, saying: “We look forward to the benefit of his extensive experience in growing public companies at a time where we seek to expand through a combination of acquisitions and organic growth.”
