Saxo Bank
Saxo Bank, the trading and investment specialist, has appointed Jeff Zorek as chief operating officer of global sales based in London and reporting to Matteo Cassina, global head of sales. Jeff joins Saxo with over 30 years of financial services experience, managing businesses in securities trading, high-speed electronic execution, risk management, clearance, settlement and financing at firms such as Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers and most recently Nomura International, where he held the position of global co-head of prime brokerage.
Norman Broadbent
Norman Broadbent – the Aim-listed provider of executive search, leadership consultancy and complementary recruitment services, has announced the appointment of Mike Brennan as its new group chief executive. Mike, who joins from Alexander Mann, brings with him a wealth of experience built up over 20 years within the global executive recruitment market and more recently the broader recruitment process outsourcing market. Having successfully founded, grown and sold executive recruitment businesses in the UK and Asia, Mike brings significant market and entrepreneurial experience to Norman Broadbent.
Together
Specialist lender Together has made two senior appointments to its leadership team. Ron Baxter, currently a senior adviser at the Bank of England’s prudential regulation authority, joins as an independent non-executive director in the retail division. He has also been a senior adviser at the Financial Conduct Authority (previously the Financial Services Authority) for over 10 years. Wayne Bowser, who has joined from HSBC where he was deputy head of commercial banking, takes up the role of group non-executive director and chairman of the audit committee. Wayne has held non-executive directorships at various leading firms, in sectors including housebuilding, motor dealership and investment. In addition, Nigel Dale, previously a partner at Eversheds, was recently announced as general counsel.
Bristows
London-based law firm Bristows LLP has announced the promotion to partner of senior associate Sophie Lawrance, effective on 1 May 2016. Sophie joined the firm in 2002, and became a member of the competition practice, headed by Pat Treacy, in 2004. She has since worked with clients such as Samsung, Google, Les Laboratoires Servier, and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.
