The Moment

The Moment, an international content agency that specialises in bespoke training solutions, has appointed Sir Jonathon Band as chairman of its advisory board, for its advanced digital learning division. Jonathon will oversee quarterly meetings that will guide and challenge the capability of the learning business. Jonathan joined the Royal Navy after graduating from the University of Exeter. He commanded HMS Soberton, HMS Pheobe, HMS Norfolk, HMS Illustrious and was involved in the Falklands, Bosnian, Iraq and Afghanistan campaigns. In 2006, he became First Sea Lord and Chief of the Naval Staff, the most senior serving officer in the Royal Navy. Prior to that he was Commander-in-Chief Fleet. On retirement from the Service in 2009, Jonathon established a portfolio of non-executive positions in the charity and commercial sectors, including chairmanship of the National Museum for the Royal Navy. He has been non-executive director of cruise company Carnival Corporation and the British arm of the American defence contractor Lockheed Martin, and more recently with Survitec Group.

Demica

Demica, the specialist provider of working capital solutions and financing partner to multinational companies, has announced the appointments of Jen Collet, Giovanni Lazzeri and Karel Krejci as chief operating officer, director, origination and director, supply chain finance origination respectively. In her role as COO, Jen will play a pivotal part in Demica’s expansion, working closely with chief executive Matt Wreford. Giovanni will have responsibility for originating multi-jurisdictional securitisation and supply chain finance programs for Italian and multinational corporates and financial institutions. As part of Demica’s commitment to offering in-market accessibility to its clients, he will be co-located in Italy and London. Karel will focus on originating supply chain finance programs across Europe, building on Demica’s recent significant investment in its technology platform to support non-investment grade clients and their large number of smaller, cross-border suppliers.

Faegre Baker Daniels

International law firm Faegre Baker Daniels has bolstered its corporate practice and central and eastern European offering with two hires. Ted Cominos joins as a partner in Chicago, and Cristina Audran-Proca joins as counsel in the firm’s London office. They were both previously at Locke Lord LLP. Ted has a wealth of experience in private equity-backed and cross-border M&A transactions, particularly in Europe’s emerging markets and neighbouring countries such as Russia, Turkey and North Africa. Ted previously served as chair of Locke Lord LLP’s cross-border practice group and led Linklater’s central and eastern European private equity group. Cristina has significant expertise advising on corporate mergers and acquisitions, with a particular focus on private equity and venture capital transactions in central and south eastern Europe and neighbouring markets. Cristina also has substantial expertise coordinating transactions in France, holding her bachelor’s degree and an MA in business and economics law from the University of Paris I Pantheon Sorbonne.
