International law firm Bryan Cave LLP has expanded its banking and finance practice in Germany with the addition of Sandra Pfister, who joins as a partner. Sandra is known internationally for her banking and finance work. Joining with Sandra is associate Reinhard Bunjes. Sandra’s expertise is in the area of banking and finance transactions. Her focus lies in advising banks, institutional investors as well as corporates on innovative and bespoke German and cross-border corporate and structured finance transactions, including syndicated lending, acquisition financing, project financing and real estate financing. Reinhard's practice is as broad as Sandra’s. He represents banks and institutional investors as well as borrowers and sponsors on bilateral and syndicated corporate and structured financings, including real estate financing, acquisition financing, project financing and export credit and trade financing. He is additionally experienced in advising public sector entities.
The Risk Advisory Group
Global risk management consultancy the Risk Advisory Group has appointed Neil Austin as non-executive director. The former head of global markets for KPMG, where he was a partner for more than 20 years, takes up his position on 1 June. With a career spanning more than 35 years, Neil is an expert in strategy and corporate finance and has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, flotations and other public market transactions. For the past five years, Neil has been a member of the Sports Broadcast Monitoring Committee, monitoring compliance with a Code of Conduct signed by most of the UK’s major sports bodies, and also an association member for Bupa, tasked with providing oversight and performing an important corporate governance role. He also advises a number of private companies and professional services firms with international operations.
FTI Consulting
Global business advisory firm FTI Consulting has announced the appointment of Richard Hooper as senior adviser. Richard will work with FTI Consulting’s regulatory experts in London, advising primarily on telecoms and postal matters. Richard is currently senior independent director of VocaLink, which builds and operates the national interbank payments infrastructure (BACS, Faster Payments and the Link network). He is also the chair of the Broadband Stakeholder Group and honorary president of the Copyright Hub Foundation. In the UK, he wrote the 2008 Hooper Report, which led to the privatisation of the Royal Mail. Richard has also advised the Australian government on its communications and media authority.
