RBC
Martin Copeland (pictured) has joined RBC in London as head of oil and gas, reporting to Nick Taylor. Martin has 25 years of experience and joins RBC from Evercore where he co-founded the EMEA energy team and led a number of high profile oil and energy mandates. Prior to Evercore, his previous roles include UBS and Deutsche Bank. Josh Critchley, managing director and head of European investment banking at RBC, said: “Martin is a highly experienced oil and gas banker with strong M&A credentials and extensive contacts across the industry. His focus will be on strengthening our existing franchise and ensuring we continue to develop contacts and win mandates in one of our core markets.”
Walpole
Walpole has appointed Michael Ward as chairman. He succeeds Ben Hughes, deputy chief executive of the Financial Times, who has decided to step down after completing four successful years as chairman of the luxury alliance group of more than 170 British luxury brands, including Aston Martin, Burberry, Jimmy Choo, Mulberry and Redman Whiteley Dixon. Michael has been a Walpole board director since November 2012, and is currently the managing director of Harrods, a position he has held since 2005. From 2014 to 2016 he represented Walpole members as president of the European Creative and Cultural Industries Alliance.
Assurant
Global specialty protection provider Assurant has appointed Andy Morris to the role of president and chief executive officer of Assurant Solutions in Europe. Andy will be based in the UK and report to Keith Demmings in his new role. Andy’s leadership experience within European and global business-to-business service providers spans more than 20 years. He has played a pivotal role in the organisation since 2006 when he was appointed business development director for Lifestyle Services Group, which was acquired by Assurant in 2013. He was promoted to chief marketing officer of Assurant Solutions in Europe in 2014. “Andy has a passion for delivering transformational and innovative solutions that meet the needs of clients and their customers to continually improve the customer experience” said Keith Demmings, president, global markets, Assurant Solutions. “His expertise will be invaluable as we continue to grow our mobile and other connected living offerings and expand our footprint in Europe.”
Gravis Capital Partners
Former Cenkos Securities senior corporate adviser to the investment funds sector, Dion Di Miceli, has joined Gravis Capital Partners (GCP), the specialist investment advisory firm, as head of investment funds where he will work with the boards of GCP-managed funds, their investors and advisers. Dion has over 15 years of experience working with boards, investors and managers of investment funds advising on and structuring a broad range of transactions covering IPOs, secondary issuance, mergers and corporate transactions.
