BLM
Risk and insurance law business BLM has announced the appointment of abuse claims expert Sharon Moohan. Sharon joins BLM’s abuse claims team having overseen €953m (£743m) of redress payments in her role as sole solicitor for the Irish Residential Institutions Redress Board. The board was set up in 2002 to make fair and reasonable awards to people who were abused as children in institutions subject to state inspection. As well as significant experience in historical abuse claims, Sharon also has extensive litigation experience in the defence of personal injury claims, including motor, employer and public liability, medical negligence and defamation. Having acted on behalf of AIG, Allianz, Aviva, Axa, RSA and Zurich, Sharon is also a non-executive director for Saolta University Healthcare Group in Ireland.
Herbert Smith Freehills
Herbert Smith Freehills has announced that international arbitration expert Dr Patricia Nacimiento will join its partnership. Patricia will join the firm from Norton Rose Fulbright on 9 May. She has spent the past 20 years developing a reputation as an international arbitration practitioner specialising in both commercial and investment treaty arbitrations, acting as counsel and arbitrator. Patricia is a native German speaker and is fluent in English, Spanish, Italian and French. She is co-editor of leading manuals on arbitration and lecturer at the Universities of Heidelberg and Frankfurt.
CBRE
Global real estate adviser CBRE has appointed James Polson as a director in the UK industrial tenant representation team. James joins CBRE from Lambert Smith Hampton, having previously spent 11 years at Cushman & Wakefield. He brings with him a wealth of experience and a significant client base within the industrial occupier sector.
Verto Analytics
Verto Analytics, a single-source, cross-device audience measurement solution provider, has announced two key strategic executive appointments. Alison Murdock has joined Verto Analytics as senior vice president, marketing, and is responsible for leading global brand strategy, marketing, and communications. Michael Read has joined as managing director, UK, and is responsible for growing Verto’s new London office and leading all UK sales and operations. Alison and Michael bring more than 50 years of combined experience growing high-performing teams, and will both sit on the executive management team of Verto Analytics, reporting directly to chief executive Hannu Verkasalo.
