Peel Hunt
Corporate broking, trading and advisory house Peel Hunt has appointed Amy Walker and Michal Cabadaj as equity research analysts in its healthcare and life sciences team. Amy has joined from Morgan Stanley where she worked for over five years, most recently as a director of EU pharmaceuticals research. Prior to this, she led coverage of key chemical and agrochemical stocks at Credit Suisse Securities. She has a degree in engineering. Michal, who will officially begin his new role at Peel Hunt later this month, will be joining from FinnCap where he worked as an equity research analyst, covering UK mid- and small-caps in their healthcare and life sciences team. Michal has an MPhil in bioscience enterprise from the University of Cambridge and an MSc in finance and investment from the University of Edinburgh.
BLM
Laura Trezise has been appointed partner on the occupational disease team at risk law specialist BLM. Having previously been a partner at BLM, Laura has extensive expertise across the insurance sector, including more than 17 years’ experience in the defence of occupational disease claims for insurers and their policyholders. Most recently, she has specialised in asbestos related claims and in particular, high-value mesothelioma claims.
KPMG
KPMG has appointed Adrian Stone as its UK head of audit with immediate effect. Adrian succeeds Tony Cates, who now leads KPMG’s international markets and government practice. Adrian joined KPMG’s Sheffield office in 1984 and has been an audit partner since 1997. He has previously held a number of senior roles in KPMG’s audit practice, including head of audit for the north of England and Scotland and head of KPMG’s department of professional practice.
Close Brothers Asset Management
Close Brothers Asset Management (CBAM) has hired Shirley Coe as director of the business development team, along with two other key appointments to the business. Shirley will report to Penny Lovell, head of private client. Previously a director and private banker at Coutts & Co, Shirley has spent 20 years working with high-net worth clients both in the UK and internationally. CBAM has also hired Jonathan Moon, who joins the business development team after five years with Tilney Investment Management working on both private clients and professional intermediaries. Andrew Benns joins from Fleming Family & Partners as product marketing manager.
